It wasn’t long ago that we shared some fun Pittsburgh places to take Mom or suggested a few of the ‘Burgh’s best ways to show Dad some love; but, now that school is out for the summer, it is time to point out why Pittsburgh leads the pack when it comes to summertime fun for the kiddos. Today’s list doesn’t even include the city’s legendary Kennywood or Sandcastle Water Park, two summer staples for Pittsburgh kids. Instead, we found a summer full of fun and educational things to do with your kids in Pittsburgh. Carnegie Science Center It may be no more pencils and no more books, but there is still plenty of educational exploration going on at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Science Center. In addition to the already incredible robotics, nautical and out-of-this-world exhibits typically on display at the museum, there are tons of educational summer camps for students that range in age from 4 to 14. Camps run now through mid-August and even provide before and after-camp care for parents on the go.
